James has been an active director and actor in theatre and film for six decades. He has written three books and hundreds of poems, essays and blogs. A few favorite interests in these areas include Shakespeare, musical theatre, modern European playwrights, nautre, and the intersection of popular, folk, and classical music in the past three centuries.

In relation to his compositions and pianist skills, his music will be featured in the upcoming World Oceans Arts film 1969.
